One time we bought 3 lambs to live on the 3 acres in front of our house. Luckily, they fit nicely in the back of our car. When they were all grown up, they weighed about 200 pounds each. We didn't try putting them in the car anymore. I learned that farmers use a measurement called "animal units". Each animal unit = 1000 pounds of animal. One acre of New England pasture will supply enough food for approximately one animal unit.
